Concept, Design & Fabrication by Southern Cross Laser & Sheet Metal
This bespoke pivoting mirror was designed and fabricated as a functional architectural feature, combining precision engineering with luxury interior design. Fabricated from 6mm stainless steel and finished in a premium electroplated bronze coating, the mirror serves as both a practical dressing mirror and a sculptural centrepiece within the space. The soft radiused corners, frame Concealed structural supports create a refined appearance that complements the surrounding architectural finishes.
Engineered to rotate effortlessly, the mirror is suspended between a floor-mounted base assembly and a ceiling-mounted support rod, creating the illusion of a floating element while maintaining exceptional stability and durability.
Every component was custom fabricated and finished to achieve a seamless integration between the mirror, support structure and surrounding interior environment.

Design Intent
The objective of this project was to create a mirror that extended beyond its functional purpose and became a focal point within the interior design.
Drawing inspiration from luxury hospitality and boutique retail environments, the design combines warm metallic finishes with minimalist detailing to produce a feature that feels both elegant and timeless. The suspended installation enhances the sense of space while allowing the mirror to interact dynamically with the surrounding architecture through its pivoting movement.
The electroplated bronze finish introduces warmth and depth, creating a striking contrast against the natural timber, dark flooring and contemporary glazing systems throughout the residence.
Project Outcome
The completed installation successfully bridges the gap between furniture, sculpture and architectural metalwork. Through a combination of precision fabrication, premium finishing and innovative engineering, the mirror creates a strong visual statement while remaining highly functional in everyday use.
